We reduce carbon dioxide emissions through innovation!
The use of new technology for processing waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) at the Maya Victory facility in Zabrze significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
The Zabrze facility, supported by the Norway and EEA Grants, has been equipped with state-of-the-art X-ray separation technology – the X-TRACT z TOMRA. Thanks to the enhanced sensitivity of the X-ray camera, the X-TRACT technology reduces product losses and increases sorting efficiency.
The reuse of metals through recycling using the X-TRACT system will result in a reduction of CO₂ emissions by as much as 4,987.5 tons per year! That’s equivalent to turning off 1.25 million LED bulbs for an entire year.
The X-TRACT system was co-financed by the Norway and EEA Grants. You can find more information about the project here.
